A base is captured when an enemy tank occupies that square. Capturing a base increases the capacities of your tanks. If your last base is captured, you are dead. To protect your base, surround it with a minefield, leaving at least one open path back into your base, since you will need to return there to replenish the supplies in your tanks. As you lay mines and move to the next position on the map, you will notice that your mines are clearly visible.
